The IRS had experienced a delay in processing returns that
were e-filed and accepted from Monday, February 6, through Friday, February 10,
2012. Any refunds associated with these returns will be delayed by up to one
week due to this IRS processing issue. Please note that if you had submitted your
return during this time and it was acknowledged, you do not have to resubmit
your return again.
For the affected returns, the estimated issue date of the
refund will begin to appear on “Where’s My Refund?” beginning Tuesday, February
14.
There seems to be no refund delays for returns that were
filing starting on February 11, 2012. Processing tax returns should be back to
normal.
